They need someone to tell them it’s ok to feel sad and cry. That it does not mean they are nothing or weak. They need someone to help them see that they do not have to sleep with every guy they see just to get them to like them; that in doing that they are only hurting themselves more. They need someone to look at them and see the hurt in their eyes even though they paint on a pretty smile. They need someone to talk to.

I never had that. No matter how much I tried to reach out for help, I got shut down. There’s so many suicides in the adolescent women society that can be prevented if they only had someone who understood them and the battles they were fighting every day.

Because they didn’t have that person who was able to say “I hear you and I’m here to help” they suffer in silence, and there’s no reason for it.

I never really understood why I had the childhood that I had. I never comprehended why I couldn’t just end it even though I tried and so desperately wanted to die. There are too many lives gone too soon, and I think I can help minimize it, if not stop it. God had a plan for my pain and suffering all along; I just needed to see it.

He heard my cries for help, and He did help. By giving me the strength to survive it. I couldn’t see it at the time. I didn’t understand why He didn’t just stop it. But if He did, I wouldn’t be the warrior I am today. I wouldn’t be the person who wants to help and change the lives of young women instead of just saying things need to change.

So many people say how things need to change, but no one does anything. I think the reason nothing is done is because no one knows where to start.

I know where to start. I know how to see the pain behind the smiles and laughs.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1209″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
